I want to show you this card. This is a very contraversial card in tarot. This card is SO contraversial that many tarologists have debates over it. Its because we see this tomb and the man lying on it and the stained glass window. We know where we have seen a similar picture dont we ? Yes we do.
The argument with this card is whether it presages death or whether it presages 'resting' - its very important of course to decide this.
Now when I get this card it tells me what it is depending on how I see it and if other cards are with it.
I drew three cards and this card was the FUTURE card. Before this card was the nasty King of Pentacles reversed which was discussed in the recent tarot and before that, we have had the nine of cups reversed. Please bear with me to try to put together for you what I have.
Firstly, there is an interesting story about the Four of Swords which I want to share. So lets just put that here for you.
In the middle ages, Knights were the super jocks of their time. When they went out on crusade, or rescued a damsel in distress, or slayed a dragon, or whatever they did, it was a big public dog and pony show... they were in the spotlight and life was often moving at the speed of light. Image was everything!
Life was full of danger, so when a knight left for a crusade or a mission, there was always the chance that he wouldn't come back alive. Since image was so important, most knights were hesitant to leave their funerary arrangements to anyone else, because they wanted to make sure that they were remembered in the way that they deserved. Leaving a legacy was important as well. So, before a knight went away to do battle, he would prepare his funeral in advance, usually including a chapel and a fancy sarcophogas bearing their likeness in carved relief on top.
If the knight actually DID come back from his adventure alive, the truly chivalrous ones would take some time to rest and recuperate and reflect on whether or not they were true to their mission, their king and their god. Some of them did this by literally laying down in their coffin in an act of humility and contrition.
This is the image that is being shown on the Waite-Smith 4 of Swords. This makes the card about reflection, recuperation, getting in touch with one's basic nature,
Some people think of this card as the 'Fisher King' you must remember that film with Robin Williams? A very rich man who changed places with someone poor to experience how life was and how hard it was, he went on a mission to see if he could survive that way?. Im sure you remember it.
So in real terms this card does not show a deceased person - it shows them 'leaving behind themselves' iin order to go on a mission in a different way. That is also how we can achieve our two worlds. Its living life completely different to what you have known. Therefore the card is often symbolic of the 'death of ones life as they have known it' but it does,nt represent a death in itself.
Now this is something strange of course because of what we know in the press is,nt it?
Well we are on Michaels side are we not? Yes I can hear you saying this. So lets look at that card before and what do we see? We see the King of Pentacles reversed which I discussed with you a couple of tarots ago.
The King of Pentacles is a businessman or material matters its to do with finance business and anything in the material world.
One could imagine good business with this person at all times or this corporation even - but the card I received is reversed - and indeed it is in the previous tarot.
You must use your minds here. You must think about it all very clearly without questioning too much . Before that we have the nine of cups that is reversed. That shows us the fat man at the table with all his gold cups and he has his back to a table which below has a hidden cloth.
The nine of cards is the WISH card but that Wish card is reversed.
So does,nt that tell you that perhaps something went against someones wishes, perhaps to do with business and hence it meant what has occurred with Michael? Indeed we can read it that a fat man has grown thin, therefore that can imply that the content man does not have contentment because with the card reversed everything he has - is thinned out?
I also have noted something else in these cards which I shall write privately for 'later' - but what I shall say is - there are two scenarios in these cards. Remember at this point I cannot claim to be 100 per cent accurate but do what I can to interpret what I see.
One is to be content is to have good business and reactivate a whole new future - the second scenario is to be discontent because things are not working out business choices are being made by someone else which may have involved negative things/bribery and alternatives that provide a compromise but not choice and that leads into the four of swords which means to 'time out'
I hope you see what I am trying to portray here.
Bear in mind that however healthy Michael appeared to be, none of the tarot has told us that he was completely and utterly physically fit. He certainly was not. He was not fit to the degree that he needed to be and they have told us he has head illhealth - I think the tarot has told us the truth there.
Though there are many gaps and details we wish to know - we do have some principles in tarot that give us some direction.
I know that we must put Michael first always. The legacy of his film is not for nothing. Perhaps he might not have approved but I dont get an entirely negative flavour from him. There is a tarot on his views of the film which please read again.
But understand when it comes to business decisions are made.
Sometimes decisions are made we dont agree with, dont wish to agree with but perhaps have no choice. Compromise seems to come to mind here which is something I have seen before.
What I feel - is that you take that message from Michael in his film and you make it fill your head. Michael does,nt give messages for NOTHING. Dont spend time concentrating on death. That is not what he wants. The tarot has not spoken on death the tarot has spoken of 'missions'. I know this tarot should help people I really hope that it does.
Some things need to be done. Everything is for a reason and as long as you can just follow that then you can cut down on the tissues. Remember, tissues are paper and paper are trees. Lets look after the trees and create a better way of thinking.
